About the Wyoming Fair

Where it all started! 

The Wyoming Fair Association in partnership with the Jones County Community Foundation is proud to have completed the latest improvements to our facility, a new multi-purpose lighted horse arena. 

You see, back in 1935 what was known then as the Wyoming Commercial Club partnered with a new group the Wyoming Community Horse show to start a draft horse show on Main Street in the center of town. By 1957 the organization had grown to the point of needing it’s own space

and the current Fairgrounds were born.

After several decades the original area was in need of upgrades, so back in 2019 the old fencing was torn down, the old surface was removed and foundation was re-graded to allow for better drainage along with a more conducive animal environment. A new surface was installed along with a new fencing structure with plans to finish the project in 3-4 years as the facility grew busier with events scheduled nearly year-round. That time has finally come!

Thanks in large part to a generous grant from the Jones County Community Foundation, 10 new lighting poles have been installed with 24 LED lights atop to provide entertainment for you even as the sun goes down.

An expanded sound system has also been added for a fun and unique spectator experience for all involved.

It truly has been a wonderful and much needed revitalization and transformation project for the

Wyoming Fair Association, from a run-down original facility into a true from run-down horse arena into a true modern Equestrian Center for all to enjoy and we can’t wait to see you experience it for yourself!
